and hey - can you clear up for me why all the media refers to this as milk product - this was a formula product no? When I first saw the headlines on this I was screaming over how strong the formula lobby is to have the media use different terminology. Seems fishy to me that very little of the coverage calls it formula (NYTimes does.)

All kinds of milk products have been implicated, but most adults don't immediately fall ill from melamine. Infants, however, drink huge quantities of milk in relation to body weight and their less developed kidneys are far more likely to develop acute symptoms than adults. Over time, adults would likely have problems too.
