Wonderful! I think beautiful views should be a major factor in deciding where you'll be living next :)

PS. I read the Pollen's NYT article on food and agree with it also. Last year I planted a portager which is a French kitchen garden. Basically all your vegetables come from that garden. It's been a shock to me how MUCH better everything tastes! It's a bit of work but basically it is just pure joy. Vegetable plants are amazingly beautiful and with interspersed flower plantings it frankly looks magical.

Simple Jew: Thanks.

Nadine: Yes.

Oh, I'm SOOOOO jealous. I want a garden so bad.

Hi, as someone that lives in Printers Row and by the lake... dont' walk on it. ;-) Maybe by some boat houses, but other than that, it never really gets a good thick cover on it.

Don't worry, I know better. Btw, I work near the Sears tower, just a few blocks away.

I have very bad news for you...I also have beautiful views. Even though I live in the SF Bay Area I have a view of Mount Diablo that had snow on it a few weeks ago, views of the coastal hills and also unobstructed sunsets/sunrises views. Best of all where I live I don't need a car to any of my grocery shopping [for all the house projects there is a hardware store nearby] and there are lots of parks and walking/biking trails. This last fall I installed an "owl box" [it should really be called an 'owl condo'] at the south ridge peak of house and now we have a non-paying but mouse-catching owl.

Because this has been a dry winter, I did my spring planting over the weekend. Mr/Ms Owl was being VERY watchful in sitting atop the beanpoles checking for mice last night in the moonlight.

nice shot! But no ice? That's just crazy!

There has been a little since the picture, but yeah it's odd for end of January.
