Definitely not a good way to start your week. I hope the rest of the week goes more smoothly! As for Seth's new carseat...which one did you end up getting?

AHH! The joys of fatherhood. I thought I'd provide some kind words for you to soften your THNGVB Week...

Just wanted to say that I love what you do here at the site. Your last two posts are indicative of why I come here from time to time.

You share stories with which we can empathize, or simply enjoy. Then you craft a well written essay about societal ills from the unmistakable position of a father who is concerned for the future of his beloved children.

Bravo! I don't know how you manage to keep up with the site, but, I for one, am glad you do.

Grace: Indeed not an auspicious start. Actually, the new car seat is destined for Lael when she outgrows the infant one, but I put it in our second car for temporary convenience. Seth knows he's just "borrowing it."

I think it's an Eddie Bauer, but it has a different strapsystem then our older one. The problem with this new one is the buckle is soooo low you have to kind of guess what's happening when you push the buckle in.

Pat: My gosh, thank you so much. I needed a boost like that today. Sounds like our kids have the same age spread but my kids are lagging behind yours by a little more than a year in total age.

As to how I have time to write: Seems in my old age I get up at 5:30 a.m. most days now, which gives me about an hour or two some mornings to write. Usually it works, but there are times I can't write for days on end.

oh man, that sucks! Wish you could just stop by for a beer or two. Well, just keep remembering that all of this will one day be a fond memory over which you will be able to laugh...

ha.

Oh, I have a sense of humor about it all.

bugger.....that sounds like a really crappy start to the week.

Hey at least it can only get better right....

Found your site from A Family Runs Through It......keep it up...like what your doing

Thanks. By the way, I agree that chocolate makes it better; I have some to start every day. ... How's life in Australia?
